Largest WPC contingency for Australia on record

Picture multiple World Parachuting Championship events taking place at a drop zone where competitors can take in views of the stunning Palm Jumeirah from 14,000 ft above the earth – and it’s easy to see why the 2012 WPC Mondial in Dubai is shaping up to be the biggest competitive skydiving event in history.

Kicking off on the 28th of November, the Mondial will see parachutists compete in seven disciplines over a two week period for a chance to win 29 World Championship titles.

The event has generated unprecedented interest from skydivers in Australia and around the globe. Fifty-six nations and 1469 individuals have already registered to attend the event.

Of that number, 48 athletes, six officials and three judges will be representing Australia. The delegation is our largest on record and will see Aussies competing in nine of the 11 discipline events listed in the WPC program.

With the final registration round still open (ending October 11), it is possible even more competitors will register their intention to compete and make their way to Dubai for a chance at WPC glory.
